NEAR Wallet Staking Is Live
The NEAR Protocol, often referred to as NEAR, is a decentralized application platform created to facilitate the future web and power its economy. For NEAR, the envisioned future web will have everything from new currencies to applications and, most likely, even whole new industries. After a successful few weeks for the NEAR network, the staking feature is now live on the Main Wallet. For a complete guide on delegating with the NEAR wallet, please click here.
Akashian Phase 3 Is Coming
As the world’s first decentralized peer-to-peer cloud computing marketplace, Akash’s vision is to materialize a permissionless, sovereign, and open cloud where architects and builders have greater freedom to expand the human experience. To gather data, identify critical issues, and ensure the network’s scalability, security, and usability, Akash leveraged a series of Testnets that started with the Founding Member Challenge in Q4 2019 and continued with the launch of The Akashian Challenge Incentivized Testnet Phase 1 in Q2 2020.
Now, it’s time for the final stage of exploration as Phase 3: Developer Operations is coming. The Akashian Challenge Phase 3: Developer Operations will launch on Monday, November 30th at 1700 UTC / 9:00 AM PST. Phase 3 will encompass two weeks of challenges. Stakin will be taking part and helping Akash to test the new features!
Phase 3 Goals:
Test platform functionality for Mainnet 2
Distribute tokens to potential users for Mainnet 2
Build a catalog of applications (SDLs) to launch Mainnet 2
Tezos Delphi is Live
In other excellent PoS news, the Tezos network upgraded to Delphi at block 1,212,417. The upgrade has decreased gas consumption by around 75%, allowing developers to deploy more complex smart contracts and applications (like decentralized finance apps, for example). Storage costs are now four-times lower, and the expected TPS is now 121.
Cosmos Stargate Testnet
The Cosmos Stargate Testnet is scheduled to go live in the next days. This Testnet is the latest step before the Stargate Mainnet, the largest upgrade since Cosmos went to Mainnet. Stakin is taking part in it, and we hope that as many validators as possible will join!
This new Testnet will test:
Keys custody (signing, broadcasting, multisig)
Legacy amino
Voting to enable IBC and tokens transfer
Creation of IBC tokens
The cross-chain relayer
Simulated cosmovisor upgrade
Mina Testnet
In other great Testnet release news, the Mina Testnet 4.1 Turbo Pickles has gone live on the 18th of November 2020.
Mina will be testing time-locked accounts during this testnet release! Testnet participant accounts will be locked for different periods of time. The sooner you sign up to stake, the shorter your time-lock will be. Stakin is already a Genesis Founding Member but will still keep on supporting the testnet releases.
DISCLAIMER: This is not financial advice. Staking and cryptocurrency investment involves a high degree of risk, and there is always the possibility of loss, including the loss of all staked digital assets. Additionally, delegators are at risk of slashing in security or liveness faults on some PoS protocols. We advise you to DYOR before choosing a validator.
